Rumor Alert: Possible writers for the DEADPOOL movie

The majority of smart individuals have agreed that the way Deadpool was handled in the Wolverine movie was really bad.  It was pointless and dumb to mind-numbing levels.  With that out-of-the-way, thus far everything I have heard about the standalone Deadpool film has been extremely encouraging.  Updates from creator Rob Liefeld’s Twitter account have stated that Deadpool will be in costume, he will break the fourth wall, and Ryan Reynolds will be the man behind the mask.  These things are all phenomenal, as long as they pan out.  Devin Faraci over at CHUD reports that they also may be zeroing in on their writers:

While nothing is official just yet, it looks like Fox could  be hiring Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Zombieland, to script the adventures of the Merc With A Mouth.

I really think that if this rumor turns out to be the real deal it will mean nothing but good things for this movie.  Zombieland was one of the most fun times I’ve had at the theater in quite a while and if any of that tone transfers over to Deadpool, this could be the film rendition of the character fans have been waiting for.  Stay tuned to the Nerve for updates on this one.
